Let us introduce you to the man that keeps our technicians safe, and warehouse stocked: Risk Management Coordinator and Warehouse Manager James Stevens.
When did you start at Valor?
After an exciting career in law enforcement in the metro-area, I decided it was time for a change. One thing I wanted to do was still help people stay safe and, come January 7th in 2019, there was an opportunity to create my own position within Valor to continue to do just that.
What made Valor Mechanical the right career move for you?
There was a need for someone to take over the warehouse and safety position but also opportunities to take on some administrative duties as well. This was the perfect opportunity to use the skills I already had while challenging myself to try new things professionally.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
We have a farm that can keep the family and I quite busy outside of work. When we aren’t working hard on the farm and the weather is nice, I enjoy taking the jeep out with my wife and three kids. My family and I also enjoy socializing with our friends as this is where we make a lot of memories and always have a good time.
Do you own any pets?
I have two German Shepherds, Bobby and Marge.
Favorite place that you have traveled to and why?
Lake Saganaga in Canada. We were able to experience the front-row seat of beauty and tranquility which can be hard to find in today’s world.
Did you play any sports in high school or college?
I played football in high school. Once those days were over, I was able to play beer league softball in my 20’s.
Your go to restaurant when you don’t want to cook at home and why?
Estelle’s Eatery in Harmony, they have great food and even greater people.
